Usually a firm "no" will help curb the unwanted behavior. If needed you should put the dog in the "down" position and offer verbal queues for good and bad behavior, ie. dog is laying down, having them stay ... good dog ... as they start to move to get up .. bad .. no .. stay ... etc. Try not to offer encouragement for the dog to nudge and if you are unable to get results instantly, don't give up, use "away" treatment like moving the dog to behind a gate (as in a timeout, etc).
If your dog tries to jump up, place them back on the floor. You can also use a knee to block them or you can turn your back on them.
If you are pacing (the verb to pace) you are walking up and down along a line (usually in a room) thinking about something or agitated by something.A pace (noun) is the length of a human stride. Thus when pacing you are doing so in paces.Pace can also be used as a adjective for speed - going at a rapid pace.
