A temporary solution would be to open the lid and let it lie on the back seat. This stops the rattle for me, however i havent been able to find a permanent solution yet that will let me keep the lid closed.
take out the controlpanel in armrest and clean and chek the relays
First find the source of the rattle then determine what steps to take to stop it.
Golf nets are not used to cover your golf clubs when not in use. Golf nets are used to stop the golf ball after you hit it. It is like a background stop for the golf ball. There are golf nets for indoor and outdoor use.
Maybe its the dashboard if the rattle is inside. I hear the same rattle when I hit a bump.

should have added that it was a magnet that was run over the engine. AA reckoned it was something to do with start/stop valve - any ideas how much this would to fix
Squeaking usually caused by vibration Anti-rattle clips (if any) installed? A paste type compound is available to stop rattle
It's a ford thing just get use to it.
