YIKES! The blower motor will bring in fumes sometimes from the engine compartment. You best open the hood and use your sniffer to find the fuel leak.
Or you have a whole in your manifold, i have a 92 and that's my problem
it should NOT.......you have a GAS leak fix it ...unless you overfill gas tank then maybe that's smell temp.
you probably have a leaking heater core....you can replace it or bypass it
On a 1995 Nissan maxima there is a piece or 5-6" rubber that cracks in the winter and will create the smell of gas fumes inside the cabin. The piece is located on the passenger side just to the left of the valve cover. fallow the fuel rail and you will see it or in the morning when you start up the vehicle, grab a flashlight and look in that general direction. Your nose should guide you right to the spot. In the winter I use (Heet) this seems to help with it not cracking. Good luck!
I found out years ago when i had a nissan 200sx my gas started getting into the oil and i changed the fuel pressure regulator and that solved the problem.Good luck
I am out of oil with a delivery scheduled for tomorrow. I went out to the shed to get a 5 gallon can and found a 5 gallon kerosene can filled. I have no smell therefore can not tell if the clear liquid is kerosene or gasoline. I hate to throw it away if it is kerosene, I could burn it in the heater
gasoline odor removal from clothes
In general, if a gasoline odor is detected in the passenger compartment of a car, there is a leak in a fuel line. It should be repaired immediately because there is a danger of fire.
Because of what it is made from
Gasoline contains benzene,C6H6, which naturally forms in crude oil, and is furthur refined in gasoline used by our cars. It has a characteristic sweet smell. It is also a known carcinogen.
only 2 reasons if here was no smell before changing filter. did you spill gasoline? the smell will go away. is the filter leaking?
no
If it's a sweet smell then its probably a heater core leaking antifreeze.
