If it is a connecting rod or bearing--be prepared to put in a new motor
Valve train
if it sounds like the knocking is coming from the bottom of the engine i would bet it was the rods or rod bearings may be worn. if the knocking is on the top ,then i would have the lifters and or the rocker arms checked.
it reads if your motor is knocking. say bad rod bearings or loose valves. it will kick your check engine light on if it reads knock from the motor.
No.
I doubt it is a rod knocking,it probably just needs a tune up.
The thing that could cause a knocking noise in your car is the same thing that could cause it in all cars A rod that or a flat lifter. it all really depends on where the knock is if its higher and to the back of the motor, it could be a motor mount
BAD LIFTER, KNOCKING ROD (NOT GOOD)
Sounds like your lifters are bad and might need ajusted or changed, it could be your cam not looping.
Internal knocking inside the engine is almost always a sign of worn bearings. Crankshsft, or rod bearing would be my guess. The fix, if it is internal, is overhaul. Before opening it up, make sure the knocking is indeed coming from inside the engine.
Knocking is usually associated with worn main and rod bearings.
yes you can rebuild a knocking motor. its best to rebuild it from block up and it may get pricy but its worth it
