you may have a rod knocking and you need to take it to a shop asap
Could be a rod knock. Your bearings slipping in the engine.
Depending on the year, make and model it could seriously lower its value.
I doubt it is a rod knocking,it probably just needs a tune up.
the knocking is a broken piston rod or piston ring broke it will be from $550-$1k to have it replaced. u need to have it checked out ASAP
That would be the connecting rod bearings and the crankshaft bearings saying goodbye. You have succeeded in destroying the engine.
Knocking is usually associated with worn main and rod bearings.
Most typical are spun rod bearings and scored bearing surfaces, increasing to knocking due to loose bearing, then piston rod breaking and cracking the block.
You may have a loose rod or loose roller rocker
If the car is on and the knocking seems to be coming from around the engine, then the engine could be low on oil. You need to put oil in it immediately or run the risk of ruining your engine. You also could have a stuck valve or maybe your rod is knocking the rod will knock due to improper o ring around it which doesnt give you very good seal inside of a piston.
