If your dog goes to the bathroom inside, tell it off by sending them to their bed and making them stay there. Let them out regularly, and they should be fine.If your dog is sniffing around or circling, that is telling you that she needs to go to the bathroom. Dogs give signals saying that they need to eliminate. If you dog is giving these signals, let your dog out immediately and if she goes to the bathroom, praise her.I prefer the reward method. Our Italian greyhound was peeing wherever. We began giving her a small treat when she did the right thing in the right place. She is now 2 and comes to tell us after she's finished so she can claim her treat. She stands ,leans on our legs and drums her paws on our knees,with a very excited look in her eyes. I say."Did you do a good thing? I knew it , I knew you would!!".....,then you have to go and have a look and fold up the newspaper she used; she stands beside you as you are doing this, then she charges off to the treat jar. Since we used this method she has never made a mistake. You must erase a former mistake with 50% white vinegar and water in an old spray Bottle or ANTI-Icky -Poo spray. Well first you must have patients, remember this is an old dog so it will be harder to break it of its habit. You should try to walk it as much as possible or at least take it outside. When it goes outside reward it. This will teach your dog that going outside brings good! Next if your dog does go in the house, GENTLY take its nose and put it close to their mess, then say STERNLY (no yelling) "no, this is bad, no!" Do not hit or yell at your dog though, because this will upset it and it will go inside more. Just remember, it is easyer to train a puppy, so on your next dog, teach it well its young!
