There is much discussion on this topic how to boost self-esteem in a child, yet it varies from issues & he/she goes through low self esteem. Even discouragement or little stress can cause low self esteem. Also there are bundle of others thing as well, and and it can be descriptive. Well, a good way to boost self-esteem in a child is to encourage him.

1) Give the child task according to his capability, so that he can fulfill it and encourage him on it.

2) If its about school issues like homework, teachers problem, peer pressure..Suggest the child how thing goes smooth if you act like a man who is confident enough to face little issues.

3) Take a trip to some place where the child likes going.

4) Take active part in those activities that child like the most, and help him every time when he needs you.

But, if he/she is showing some behaviors that are very concerning, you need to develop such tools to help him out in long run.

No Parenting technique, approach, talk, or change on your part will work until your child is motivated to listen to and follow your directions. Most children don't lack the ability to obey their parents or follow rules, they simply lack the motivation to do so. The Home Intervention System was developed by administrators of schools and programs for struggling youth and has been adapted for home use. The Home Intervention System shows you how to motivate your teen to make changes just like they do in these schools and programs. The System utilizes a simple but powerful Attitude and Behavior Modification Program.

The Home Intervention System will help you deal with a wide range of problems that children often encounter including; anger, substance abuse, school issues, self-esteem, arguing, motivation, interacting with family, and more.

do not prise everything they do but support them, confort them, try not to get mad at them if you do just say what they did was wrong do not insult them. only stick up for them when nessesery when they are being badly bullied, if they are just being picked on let them stick up for them selves this will give them a scense of achivement.

You improve self-esteem by helping them to gain confidence in themselves. Confidence comes with knowing what to do and how to behave through experience of situations.

By letting the child do things for him/herself. Simple things like going to the corner store and buying something specific.

By letting the child make certain decisions for him/herself. My child wears what she wants. I don't tell her what to wear and I certainly don't get the clothes and lay them out for her. Only if she picks something inappropriate, like shorts and it's 30 degrees out lol, will I veto a piece. Or her velvety shoes and it's raining.

Sometimes I'll tell her to find our way home. I give no indication of which way to go. In a subway stop, I'll ask her which side do we go on. On a bus, I'll ask where do we get out.

I let her make mistakes and help her to reason out the correction.

Above all, don't shout at the child. Shouting is an attack and they will learn to shout back at you. Then you have a war. You can get your point across with the words you choose rather than the volume of your voice.

Pick your battles. She wears what she wants; she eats what she wants of the dinner plate I give her in her own time; she can (mostly) watch whatever kid shows she wants...these controls she can have freely. But there is no screwing around on the train platform. We keep our hands to ourselves in the store. We don't ask for everything under the sun while IN said store.

The boundaries are clear.

Because there are things she decides upon freely and with little or no input, she pays attention when the issue is more important.
