I am working on that now also. It would be a easy job with the motor out as you have to take off the timing cover and remove the belt. Not an easy job in the car but it can be done. Have to remove motor mount to get to timing cover
you have to remove the timing chain in order to remove the cam covers
2.2ohv motors have 120hp 2.3 Quad 4 motors have 150hp 2.4 Twin Cam motors have 150hp(1996-2002)
cam chain
Under the cover that covers the cam belt. The water pump is driven by the cam belt and should be replaced at the same time the cam belt is replaced or vice versa. The cam belt MUST be replaced every 90,000 miles. Warning: This is an interfernce engine.
you have to take the valve covers off and remove the cam then take a magnet and pull them out they are shinny so you will see them right off the bat but if you are getting a tapping noise then just use lucas oil stabilizer on your next oil change
Cam Campion died in 1995.
For the 2.0L engine it is a chain-driven cam.
not true i have a 97 with a 2.4 ltr quad cam engine and it has 190,000 miles on it.
There is no cam sensor on the 1995 year engine. GM. did not use a cam sensor on that year.
No.
the car will have about 155 to 165 horsepower
If it has center hold-downs on the rocker covers, it's probably a roller cam.
