A 2 week old mouse is still considered a baby - however properly determining the age of a mouse is easy. If the mouse has hair it can usually feed itself. Place food on the floor of the cage to allow easy access. Offer both hard, and soft food (soak hard food in water to make it soft) also keep food in the cage at all times along with water. If the mouse can not eat on its own get some kitten milk from a petstore, warm small portions of it and try feeding it with a dropper usually if they are over a week old they can lick the milk, try place a very small ammount of the milk in the cage be sure its not enough for it to drown! Make a nest for the mouse by tearing a dry papertowl up and placing it in the cage in a pile so the mouse can burrow and stay warm and feel safe.

AnswerA few days ago we got an orphan mouse. We feed the mouse every 2 hours with cow's milk and we warmed it with deluded water and fed it with a medicine dropper. That was our last resort because every pet store was closed. We finally got to a pet store that opened and got kitten formula. We drop the milk on our hands and the mouse licks it up. The mouse has no fur yet and it's eyes are shut. It's very spunky, and it loves snuggling into my hands. When we are not holding her in our hands, we put her in a shoe box with socks and toilet paper. We also have a light over her, but we leave a shady spot...just incase she gets too warm. Hope this helped!!!

ANSWER

If you are sure that it is two weeks old, feed it seeds. I took care of a two week old mouse, and I feed it seeds. It would be about the time that the mother would be feeding it seeds.

If the baby mouse still needs milk, you can get formula from a vet or pet supply store. Some people say to use condensed milk, but the formula is better. Warm it slightly, and allow the mouse to lick it from the tip of an eye-dropper. Do not force the milk into its mouth under any circumstance.

There will be more directions on the can of formula.

It is very unlikely that such young mice will survive without their mother to feed them milk and to groom and care for them. To prevent them suffering it may be advisable to take them to a vet for advice as to what to do with them.

It depends on the age. If it has fur, then it will be older then ten days, and will be easier to care for. If there is no fur put it in a container with something soft inside, such as mouse bedding or cotton wool. Feed the naked baby mouse milk formula (kitten milk replacement can work well) use an eye-dropper or something similar. If it has fur then you won't have to contantly keep it warm, but check to make sure it doesn't get too cold. Feed it some milk formula, and some more solid things. Offer it some seeds, and bread. Perhaps soak the bread in milk. As it grows, if you want to keep it, you need to buy a cage. Cages can be found at almost all pet stores. Buy about two if there are more then three mice. Most will come with a food bowl, excersize wheel, water bottle and mouse house. If not, you will need to buy these seperately, the mice may also enjoy a plastic igloo. Also buy bedding and food. Ask for assistance and make sure you buy the right food and bedding. When the mice get a bit older you can transfer them to the cages. If they didn't have their eyes open they may even imprint on you! Anyhow, because they are young, they will trust you more, even if they are wild. If there is just one mouse, when you can tell the genter of it, you need to get it a buddy, try to get one of the same age range and gender. Females will get on better, but males may fight so make sure they are introduced at a young age. A female and male will of course breed, and if you don't want this, be careful. If you have multiple baby mice, then once they get a bit older you will have to research on how to tell their gender, or find an expert to do it for you. Seperate males and females. If you don't want to keep them ring around your local pet stores. They may not take wild mice, so you might need to give them to friends. But if you explain to the pet store that the mice have been raised by a human, then they may understand that the mice will be tamer and take them. Good luck with your mice! :)

If the mouse doesn't have it's eyes open yet you will need to feed it every 2-3 hours (even at night) with goat milk or puppy, kitten or human baby formula (dont feed it cows milk it will make it sick/die) If it's eyes are already open that means you can start weining it, you won't need to feed it at night anymore but you will need to leave unflavored oatmeal (change it often because it can go bad quick when left out) or mouse food (like critter cubes) wetted with their formula or milk....you still need to offer it milk during the day and if it is hungry it will eat it....after and before you feed it you will need to get a q-tip wet with warm water (but make sure it's not too hot or cold) and rub their back, belly, and their bottom with it (they aren't able to go to the bathroom on their own yet)
