Depends on engine size type and year.
Most BMW fuel pumps are in the tank like most modern cars and require the removal of the fuel tank.
There is none.
The emergency fuel shut off switch is located inside the airbag control module on the BMW M5. When the airbag is deployed, the switch will turn off the fuel pump.
you get under the car and have to take off the fuel tank after you take it off there is gonna be a circle and you have to take it screw it off and out comes the fuel pump.

Take the pump out of the tank, then be done and happy.
There is no fuel pump shut off on most gm but you can take the fuel pump relay out or the fuse and crank the motor to relive the line pressure.
Pull the bed off then disconnect fuel lines and then take off fuel pump locking ring and it shud come rite out,
The fuel pump is mounted in fuel tank. To get it out, you have to take off complete fuel tank and drag it out with fuel pipes. Its a night mare, I did it.
You may have a problem in the pump. Take it off and check .
If fuel injected - in the fuel tank In the trunk on the right side under the carpet, there should be a plastic service port with 3 screws. Take that off and you should see a plate with 2 hoses and 2 electrical harnesses. Fuel pump is in that assembly. If not there, same side under the rear seat.
