judging by your question, i can see that you are a highly imformed individual and are familiar with the fact that in 1982, Yamaha only made one model of motorcycle. to remove the tank just find the bolt under the bar, then find the bolt under the other bar,its right next to a metal bar. youre going to need a wrench of course. one preferably made of metal.
if you are still unable to remove the gas tank, there are many people who are smarter than a piece of sponge cake who may be able to help you.
if it is the same as for a 1982 xt 250, you should first remove the seat and the gas tank, then only you have access to the engine.
there is no oil tank on a Vmax motorcycle. The only oil is in the crank case, and the shaft drive.
no there isn't
If you can figure out a way to mount it securely, sure you can use a beer keg if you want to
my 1981 650 maxim has a 2.9 galon cap.
What is the gas to oil ratio fot a 1982 Yamaha PW50? Do you need to mix it manually or does it automatically mix together by putting straight gasoline in the gas tank and straight oil in the oil tank?
Yes, she's got one. Good for 10-20 miles. :-D .80 gal
yes exact fit if the 82 is also a 650
Fuel tank sizes very on a motorcycle. They range from 2 gallons to about 6 gallons.
Inside the tank. It is attached to the petrol tap, if you remove the tap you will see a plastic mesh tube attached to the tap.
you can ussually tell what model it is buy reading the sticker on the side of the frame near the tank and handle bars. some time the have a sticker saying what type it is
It's easy to take the tank off this model bike. Remove the seat, then you will see the two bolts that hold the rear of the tank. Turn the gas tank selector valve to "off" then remove the fuel line. When you start to lift the tank off the two front rubber tank locators you will see the wire bundle that comes back to the under-seat area from the speedometer. Disconnect it at the plug and the tank will lift off easily.
