The air filter is under the gas tank. You will have to loosen your gas tank and lift it up. The air filter is flat and inserted in a vertical slot. Locate it and pull up and out.
Under the fuel tank. You have to remove the fuel tank to get to the air box, which houses the filter.
Transmission air filter
It can be done, but it's tricky. It's better to take it to an authorized Kawasaki dealer, who can easily cross reference the 111013a to a fram air filter.

Removing a air filter on a Kawasaki Vulcan 500 is not so easy to do and will take some time. You will have to take off the seat to reach the air filter, then you will unscrew the cover and take out the air filter and replace it with a new one.

Each air conditioner take a different size of filter. The air filter should be checked routinely and changed as needed.
After removing the tank cover and tank, disconnect fuel line. Fairing may be blocking access, and need removing as well. Unscrew air head to expose filter. Remove filter or replace it and return wires to existing connections.
