How do you access the AC blend door on your 2000 neon?
You have to take the dash cover off. The blend door cable and swing arm are just under and in font of the defroster vent. You have to pretty much take the defroster vent out to access the cable and swing arm. This whole process will take a while as you have to take the center console out, the dash cover off, the passenger airbag out, and the dash off just to be able to actually work on the blend door. But take the top dash cover off and look under the defroster vent and you will see two cables one is the position cable and one is the temp cable (connected to the swing arm on the blend door. You will then get an idea of how much you need to take apart to fix the problem. It also depends on how small your hands are and if you can work on the problem without removing everything else.

That one is probably turned off. Take a close look at the vent. If that is not the case then the duct to that vent has come off.

First you have to take off the side panels (the ones that have the air port in them that feed air into the door vents), those just pop off. There will be one screw in each side, take those out. The wood trim pops off. Then there are some bolts underneath the dash that need to be removed to get the dash off. The first couple that come to mind are the ones underneath the glove box door.

It's called a "vent", as in "ventilation." They generally take air from outside the car, unless you've got it set to "recirculate." Most likely air is being forced into the system because the car is moving, and that's the air that's blowing through the vent even though the fan is turned off.

you take the fuse plate off the side of the dash. there will be a plate on the other side you take it off to, remove the screws then you have more screws in the top of the glove box that u take out.after u take them out look on top of ur dash remove the vent plate take them screws out as well. then u should be able to pull the top of ur dash out. After doing that look where uu steeringwheel is u will have 3 screws to take out after u take them out u can can pull that off and pull or put u radio in and put it back together the way u took it off.

ok after you take out all the switches and radio, and a/c control unit thingy above the radio, there is 3 bolts holding in the dash, when you open the doors, on the very side of the dash there is one little square plastic peice in the middle on both sides, pop that cover off. the take the screw out, then there is an airvent on the top of the dash, in the middle, just below the wind shiel, pop that vent cover off then there is one more screw inside there. after you take that screw out the dash should come out pretty easy

It wont hurt anything to leave it open even with the furniture over it, but if you want, you can take a towel and plug up the airflow from the vent. This will only make the other vents in the house blow a little more air than normal. just take the vent cover and put it back into place over the towel.
Why is there hot air coming from the heater of a 91 S10 PU even though the controls are turned to off?
The vent control is not working. It is either electrical or vaccume. The controls are not effectiong the vents. They could also just be stuck. The vent controls are usually found under the dash. hope it helps. duboff
