how to remove rearview mirror in 98 Lincoln continental
There's a torx screw at the base of the mirror that you loosen to take the mirror off the mounting plate.
you have to remove door panel and there are three nuts you have to take off of the mirror.
You have to take off the door panel and take the 2 bolts out holding the mirror in place
look at the bracket where your rear veiw mirror attaches to the windshield,,, ok then on the bottom side there is a little hexagon screw,,,take it out with a small Allen wrench,,then slip the rear veiw mirror up off the steel base that is glued to the winsheild itself,, you should have no problem
TIn order to remove the rear view mirror from 1995 f-150 take a very thin, flat screw driver and press it in the bottom slot. This will release the clip and the mirror can then be slided upwards and removed.
You have to take the door panel off on the inside of the door, and there are two bolts that hold the mirror housing. Its a real pain in the neck. If your just trying to take the mirror out of the housing and replace it, sorry I can't help you there.
take it to a brake specialist
Nah Don't take a sledge hammer to it. They're just a big pain.
check your emergency brakes or the rear brakes are adjusted to tight. take apart and readjust
i just had this problem with my 93 probe, the rear view mirror fell off. i couldn't get mine apart either. I went to pepboys and they said there's a clip that you can't get to, but pepboys does sell a "button" all by itself. It' was like $4. Buy that. It takes about 5 minutes total to put it on. You'll just attach the new button to the windsheild, and the old rear view mirror to that.
U take the lugnuts off ........................................... Hahahahahah
