Well if it is hurting when you take it out its either you have too high of an absorbency or your taking it out to early and it hasn't abosorbed any thing. But the best way to take out the tampon is to take it out the same angle you put it in. When you pull the string try to pull it at an angle rather than straight down.

∙ 11y agousually you should wait the amount of hours it says to change it, if it says 6-8 hours wait 6-8 hours that way its full of blood and therefore its easier to slide out then when its not full its harder and it hurts to slide out

∙ 8y agoAs long as you're using tampons correctly then they should not hurt you to remove.
Make sure that you're using the correct absorbency: if not saturated in blood after 4-6 hours you need to use a lower absorbency or switch to pads, removing a dry tampon will cause friction against vaginal walls that will be damaged as a result of the tampon drying-out mucus membranes. Make sure that you're relaxed too, if you are tense vaginal muscles tense causing vaginal walls to clench together around the tampon, you'd essentially be playing tug-o-war with your vagina so it can be painful.
