These are halogen bulbs and are changed under the hood. There is a holding ring that must be unscrewed 1/4 turn to free the bulb. Once the ring is free (remember which side was toward the front) the bulb can be carefully pulled straight back to change it. You may have to wiggle it a bit to get it to come free. Don't try the brighter "Blue" replacement bulbs. I found my escort couldn't handle them. For headlight assembly removal: 1 disconnect electrical connections from the 3 light bulbs. 2 remove bumper cover. 3 remove assembly mounting bolts and the asembly.
