If you are talking about removeing the lock motor that is riveted to the door frame you have to punch out the pin in the center of the rivet then drill the rivit out to remove it.
Be sure to choose the correct size drill bit, you don't want the hole to big. Also get it as straight as possible to ensure a good instalation of the new part. I've watched my husband struggle with a few of thease because he was in too much of a hurry removing the broken lock.
on my 89, the accuators were clipped to the peice that were rivited to the door. i just twisted until i got the clips off and worked on the linkage.
