# Disconnect the negative battery cable. # Remove the pad assembly by either removing the screws or prying the pad off. Disconnect the bayonet-type connector at the horn wire by pushing in and turning counterclockwise. # Push the locking lever counterclockwise until the full release position is obtained. # Scribe a mark on the plate assembly where the two attaching screws attach the plate assembly to the locking lever. Remove the two screws. # Unscrew the plate assembly and remove. # Remove the steering wheel nut retainer and nut. Using a puller, remove the wheel.
Warning:These models have airbags.Always turn the steering wheel to the straight ahead position,place the ignition switch in the lock position,remove the the air bag fuse and unplug the yellow connector position assurance connectors at the base of the steering column and under the right side of the instrument panel before working in the vicinity of the impact sensors
Caution:On models equipped with Delco-Loc 2 or Theftlock audio systems make sure you have activation code

To take the steering wheel off to get to the horn a person needs a steering wheel puller. It will remove the steering wheel by applying pressure to the middle and pulling up on the rest.
You should take out the Mercedes badge out of the steering wheel. Then you should see a screw inside the steering wheel. Take it out and you're done.

take horn button off of the steering wheel and you will see a large nut holding the wheel on, take the nut off and then you will need a steering wheel puller to get the wheel off it's splines.
Take the nut of the steering wheel under the horn and use a puller to get it off
You have broken wires in the tilt wheel. You will need to take the steering wheel off and start looking for a broken wire in the steering column somewhere. You will have to have a steering wheel puller to get it off.

You take it off just like any other steering wheel
first take the cover for the horn off. there will be a large nut in the center. take that off. there is also three screws around it. take those off and remove the ring they hold on. take a steering wheel puller and connect it onto the steering wheel. turn the center bolt clockwise until the steering wheel comes off. to reinstall the steering wheel, you just have to press it on by screwing the big nut back on.
A steering wheel is hard to remove by hand. It can be removed with a tool called the steering wheel remover found at local auto shops.
there should be a couple of bolts on the back side of your steering wheel that removes the front face and after you take that off there will be a large nut that will take off the rest of the steering wheel, but remember to disconnect the airbag before you remove the steering wheel cause you could set it off.
