its internal inside the timing cover have to take off rad filler contanier then motor mount then timing cover. once inside take tensioners off along with the access plugs on the side of the cylinder heads and then the valve covers. after that take bolts of the water pump and should come out with a little elbow grease.

I just finished retapping the cam housing bolt holes in my 2000 sunfire. but had to remove the timing chain to get the cam cover and housing off. to get the timing chain off, you have to remove the motor mount bracket off first, then remove the timing cover before getting to the chain. no room to get the bracket bolts off without some assistance to pry the engine to the opposite side.
