On the V6 L300 it is in the passenger side of the car directly below the motor mount. The bolts are behind the timing belt cover.
You have to jack the motor up and remove the motor mount on the side of the motor and remove the timing chain cover wich is held on by seventeen 10mm bolts. I will tell you the timing chain kit will run you around 225.00 but if it has slipt or broke your gona have to have the head checked to see if you bent any valves
Use a jack with a board on top to support the engine. Loosen the bolts for the motor mount. Raise the engine slightly then take the bolts out and remove the motor mount. Install the new mount, tighten the bolts, then remove the jack.
I am working on that now also. It would be a easy job with the motor out as you have to take off the timing cover and remove the belt. Not an easy job in the car but it can be done. Have to remove motor mount to get to timing cover
The timing belt is located behind the timing belt cover on the front of the engine. To get the cover off the top front motor mount must be removed to gain enough clearance to get it out.
its internal inside the timing cover have to take off rad filler contanier then motor mount then timing cover. once inside take tensioners off along with the access plugs on the side of the cylinder heads and then the valve covers. after that take bolts of the water pump and should come out with a little elbow grease.

the water pump is located under the side motor mount behind the lower timing cover on the drivers side of the motor.
very hard! I just finished retapping the cam housing bolt holes in my 2000 sunfire. but had to remove the timing chain to get the cam cover and housing off. to get the timing chain off, you have to remove the motor mount bracket off first, then remove the timing cover before getting to the chain. no room to get the bracket bolts off without some assistance to pry the engine to the opposite side.
