I had the same problem with my new guitar, so its not one size will fit all is the easiest answer unless its the exact same brand and model.
this is funny though my 7 string has a much longer whammy bar I like more, I tried to put it on my normal 6 string BC Rich Beast and it wouldn't fit! but the 6 string whammy bar did. They where both Licensed Floyd rose and everything.

∙ 12y agoif its a fender one it won't no matter what you do, if you manage to you'll probably break it.
the up and down whammy bars are floating tremolos like Floyd rose.. if you have a Floyd rose and it wont go up remove some springs to make it easier or you may need a set up.

∙ 8y agoIt's in a fixed bridge mode meaning it plays like a guitar without it. Open up the back of the guitar and take a look at the springs and everything.

∙ 11y agoIf it is just the whammy bar itself and not the tremolo unit, depending on the type, then just rotate the bar anticlockwise until it screws off.

How do you attach a whammy bar to an SG guitar?
Only some electric guitars can have a whammy bar attached. On the side of the bridge (the bridge is the part that has the strings attached to it on the bottom half of the guitar) locate a small hole. Put the part of the bar with the twist on/off bit in the hole and tighten it. Don't push down too hard on the bar, as it may damage the bridge/body of the guitar. When putting the guitar in a bag or case, remove the whammy bar.
Can any whammy bar fit in any guitar because I just got a new proline whammy bar and it will not fit into the hole of my ibanez GIO so is there something else you have to do to install a whammy bar?
if it doesn't check out the ibanez forums, I was hanging out with one of my friends and she had a strat with no whammy bar so I took the whammy bar off my BC Rich guitar and because it was a different kind (floyd rose) it wouldn't work on her fender stratocaster lookalike. there should be no installation , just put it in I mean the metal is already prepared and a direct replacement, if you can get your money back go for it.

(at least what I've tried) And it is possible to set up a Floyd Rose on any guitar or bass, it just takes a lot of work, and a lot of knowledge because there are some vital parts in a guitar that you might not know what they're there for, so seek some professional help if you are a little uneasy about modifying your instrument.
Why has the hole for the whammy bar in your tremolo been filled in?
Probably could have been stripped, had the bar broken off or previous owner could have tried to make it a hardtail (no trem)

Why isn't whammy working on Wii guitar hero?
If you have just bought a guitar, the whammy bar will tend to not work off and on. If it is broken because of neglect or overuse, than yeah. Two possible reasons: First, if the whammy bar is pushed forward when the controller is turned on (possible because the guitar is laying on its face), the whammy bar will not work. There is a screen where you can calibrate the whammy and it will fix the problem. Or simply start over and turn on the controller again and be careful with the whammy. Second, I have seen a case where a small piece of plastic broke off the top of the whammy bar mechanism inside the guitar. If this is the case, you are pretty much out of luck unless you can locate an old wii guitar that can be used for parts.

Does using the whammy bar on the Guitar Hero games increase your score?
Contrary to popular belief, it actually does not give you any extra points. Using it on star power notes can help you get a lot of extra SP. Although after playing many of my friends in Pro-Face Off mode in GH2, One person will use the whammy bar and the other one won't. (because the one controller is broken.) and we will both end up with the same score. That's kind of werid!

generally no if you take off guitar strings after they have been on there for a while and tuned they would have stretched so if you take them off they will lose there tension and you will have trouble tuning your guitar so its best just to clean your guitar when you need to change the strings
How do you change the strings of a BC Rich revenge warlock guitar?
slide them through the body like any other guitar, if its got a kahler tremolo (unique whammy bar) though youtube it , it has to do with string hooks that's all I know as I'm still after a Kerry King Warlock with a kahler on it.
