- As you know jockstraps are worn when playing sports so it is highly likely the coach and the team mates as well as your son knows to wear a jockstrap. However, if you are concerned just bring it up casually and ask if he needs to buy one. If he says yes then give him the money and send him to the store to purchase one.

If the boy has started wearing boxers before 7th grade ( Jr high) he should wear a regular Bike jock under those boxers.
