It depends on who the someone is. If it is someone you care about, then stay with them, hold their hand and emphasize the relationship you have with them (friendship or otherwise). Make sure that you listen to them and give them the support they need. Give them a light in the distance to look forward to and most importantly don't cause anymore pain. Encourage them to visit sites that are aimed at preventing suicide and see a psychiatrist.

∙ 12y ago- Your friend needs professional psychological help and no matter if you feel that telling your friends parents is 'ratting' on them do so and now! Parents are often the last to know about how a young person can feel. When anyone even mentions suicide it should be taken seriously. After telling your friend's parents (don't let your friend know) and they get help for your friend don't be alarmed if your friend is angry at you for what you have done, but in the future your friend will probably thank you and you can be there for a shoulder to lean on.
