all crankshaft/block seals are 2 peice
one peice is installed in block above cranksahaft
then crankshaft installed
2nd peice is installed in oil pan
oil pan then bolted to block to complete the seal
same for front seal
i really don't know how one would put a one peice seal on a crank
look at a crank and let me know if you could figure that one out

The Chevy small block went from a 2 piece rear main seal to a 1 piece rear main seal in 1987.
The 1990 block would have the integrated one-piece rear main seal. Oil pan and crankshaft are not interchangeable.
You MUST remove the oil pan to change the rear main seal. It's the only way because it is a 2 piece seal that fits in the rear main cap and block.
If it is newer then a 1986, yes it doe's have a 1 piece rear main seal.
no ,the 1986 and up blocks have a one piece rear main seal and will not fit in the earlier blocks.gmjim
Yep, they have one. 1986 and older has a two piece rear main seal. 1987 and up has a one piece rear main seal.
A Jeep 4.0L has a two piece rear main seal. You have to remove the oil pan and rear main bearing cap to replace it.
No it will not, the pre-1986 Small block chevys used a two piece rear main and the 87's-up used a one piece. There were a couple oddballs but not many, marine engine might be one of them but I doubt it would work.
does a 93 f150 have a 1piece rear main seal
Chevy in 1977 changed the rear main oil seal to a one piece seal. the older crankshaft wont work.
