The easiest way to check this is to pop out the PCV valve. Once it is out, inspect it for dirt or oil, and give it a shake - it should make a rattling sound if things are in working order.
It doesn't hurt to change your PCV valve after a period of time just to keep things running well.

Modulating Valve ???? If you can tell me what system this valve would be in I can tell you the correct name for it and its location. example IPR valve in the high pressure oil system.
As far as I can tell, there is no EGR valve on 1993 Ford Aerostar 3.0L engines. I have searched and found none and the vacuum hose routing decal in the engine compartment does not show an EGR valve.
I believe that is the Tire Pressure Monitoring System telling you that a tire is low. If this is the case the odometer screen should be displaying "Tire Reset" instead of your mileage. I will tell you that I own a 2004 Ford Freestar SE and have found that warning light to be incredibly unreliable. It worked properly once and ever since has given me trouble. When I have a flat tire it doesn't tell me and when I don't have a flat it tells me that I have one.
Have the OBDII connector scanned. The trouble code(s) will tell where the problem lies.
The rear brakes are adjusted through the use of the parking brake. Ford does not tell you this in any publication. Use of parking brake once or twice a week but better every stop will keep them in adjustment
It's the smaller valve on the line coming from the accumulaltor/dryer. It is right in front of the firewall on the passenger side. A recharge kit will tell you what to do. You know that.
the battery will not charge properly
It would be a ( 2 valve per engine cylinder ) Ford started using the 5.4 liter 3V engine in the 2004 model year of the F-150
The computer system needs to be scanned to see what code is causing the light to come on. The code will tell you what sensors or other components that the computer thinks is bad.
