The 1981 Nissan 280ZX was available without a turbo (NA) and with a turbo. With the turbo Nissan only offered an automatic transmission for this year. It was the first year for the Z series to have a turbo.
No it will not bolt up.
head torque is 55lbs for turbo
My 82 280zx turbo shows 650rpm on the decal under the hood...
between 145 and 182
a 280zx come with either a 2.8 liter Inline 6cyl or a 2.8 liter Inline 6cyl turbo.
There is no 1986 280zx. If it's a 1986 300zx then yes, but if you don't know enough about your car to know what model it is, you probably shouldn't be turboing it.

No, not in 1980. Nissan first offered a factory turbo as an option on the 280ZX in 1981. It was available that year only with an automatic and a 2 passenger car. In 1982-83 the turbo could be purchased with 5-speed manual, auto, and in either 2 or 4 passenger versions. The L28 turbo engine can be installed in the older model Z-cars though.
I do have purchased my 82 280zx Non-Turbo and would like to get all the hoses on the engine completely new. I do have some areas where the hoses are missing or have been caped. I would like to know the exact locations on where they should go. I thank you ahead for your answers. Eman
