Best thing to do is be completely honest and straight foward. Tell them face to face that you have feelings for them that you cant ignore and you just felt that you had an obligation (need) to let them know. Also try and feel that, even if you do confess your feelings to this person, you shouldn't expect them to drop everything with their current partner. Make sure you tell that person this as weel. Otherwise they can feel guilty and awkward around or towards you.
