Very hard to tell without removing a head, but if it has the factory intake and rocker covers the 307 would have an oil fill tube sticking up near the front of the intake with no fill plugs or cap in the rocker covers.

The difference is in the injectors and engine computer. You can not tell by looking at the engine.
Take a pushrod and push down on the plunger in the lifter. A hydraulic lifter is spring loaded.

Bearing noise is usually deeper and comes from farther down in the engine. Lifter noise is more of a ticking and is up in the engine heads.

On the drivers side of the engine in back of the cylinder head there are casting numbers and next to the casting numbers are raised letters either 5.7 or 5.0.
The size is different. The 360 engine is a 5.9 liter engine and a 318 is a 5.2 liter engine.
Th350 has a modulator on the back. Th400 has modulator on side. 700R4 has no modulator.
The way I tell the difference is the engine thermostat location : On the Cleveland it is mounted horizontally by the distributor and on the Windsor the thermostat is mounted vertically in the end of the intake manifold
