You can put the vehicle safely up on jacks on all four corners, have someone run engine at a constant 2300 rpm's for aprox 10 minutes or more (cats have to be hot), slide under the vehicle while it is running and use a infrared point and shoot temp gun, take a reading just before and just after each cat, a good reading would have the cat 150 or more degrees hotter coming out of the cat, (example-450 degrees F before the cat and 600 degrees F after the cat). If the readings are the same or reversed you probably have located the bad cat. I would be curious to know what the code(s) are, assuming the check engine light is on.
Yes, the TJ went from 1997 to 2006
yes it should because the 4.2 wasnt done away with until 90 i believe when they went to 4.0. My 89 wrangler had a 4.2
the answer is no to that i have a 97 wrangler se and when i went to tune it up i was told that the fuel filter is inside the tank
The all do not have a unitized construction. The Jeep Wrangler is body on frame. The reason manufactures went to unitized construction is lower cost. The only jeep that had a unibody was the small Cherokee and that had sub frame assemblies mot true unibody. EVERY other jeep has full frames.
Yes, yj body style went from 1987 to 1995
Check the sensor that is attached to the transmission. The other possibility is that the motor inside of the speedometer is broken. That happened to me on my 93 Wrangler. Went to the junkyard and got another instrument cluster.
I just went through the same thing with my 2004 Wrangler . I had to replace the rear pinion bearings and races.
Nevermind..I found the horn relay online.. My horn went off this morning and in a panic.. I unplugged it. My neighbor said he thought the horn relay went bad.. The top was down in my 2003 Wrangler during a rain storm and it got soaked..SO I don't know if this is related or unrelated... I found the horn relay on line.. here is the link... http://www.parts.com/jeep/2003-jeep-wrangler-electrical-parts.cfm I am guessing I can just try swapping out the horn relay for 8 bucks and go from there?
33'' tires i dont get any rub on mine but i went with a 10 wide instead of 11 or 12
The AX5 went in the 4 cylinders and the 6 cylinder models got the AX15
Jeep Swenson went by The Ultimate Solution, Jeep Swenson, and Jeep The Mercenary.
It shouldn't hurt at all, engine compartments are meant to get wet, but take care around the electrical fuse box.
