Good news Mom! I'm not pregnant!!!!!!

Or if you first time ask for some pads. She will figure it out on her own.

Apart from just bringing it up in general conversation, maybe there is some other female you could tell, just to help you out with knowing how to manage periods - an aunt, nurse, or teacher for example. If it is possible, you could phone your mother to discuss it with her. There might not be any need to tell your dad about it if there is someone else who can help you out and if you feel uncomfortable about telling him. Another way to bring it up would be to simply add whatever pads or tampons you need to the shopping cart next time you are shopping with him without commenting unless he asks, or give him the name of what you need on a piece of paper if he shops without you. Firstly, your father will be ready to answer the question, he know this happens around your age. Being open and honest with your father is better than "hiding". He is there for you in all situations. Secondly, if you fear the "talk", go and see your local doctor for a check up and to get advice. there are female doctors at most clinics, so request to one of them. They will tell you what to expect and also what to use during this time. Here is a few tips though: they last about 5 days, better to use pads instead of tampons to start with. Once you have had them a few months, buy some tampons, there is instructions in the box on how to use. Goodluck, they arent so bad, now you are a women, feel proud..

Well.... i got my first period at school and i had to come up with a way to tell her. #1 RULE: tell a female teacher, not a male. What i did when i had my first period at school and no emergency kit, i just went up to my teacher, pulled her aside and said " Mrs.__________ i just had my period" i mean, duh.... i was nervous but i had no other choice. and then she gave me one of her pads and i went to the clinic and went home. ( im 13 )

You need (in some way) to inform him you are now having periods and you need certain things to be able to manage.

If you feel unable to talk to him about this, please ask an adult female relative, friend, friend of the family, teacher, nurse, doctor, etc., to speak to your father on your behalf. If all else fails (if you have nobody to turn to for help), show your dad this question. Please do not worry; this can be sorted out. Please feel free to let us know if we can help you further.

You just started your period today and you don't know how to tell her because you are really reallyreally scared how do you tell her?

Tell whom, precisely? Actual nouns would be useful here.I'm guessing "her" means your mom. I don't know why you'd be 'scared' to tell your mom that something expected and normal happened to you, so I can't give you any advice on how to tell her. "Mom, I started my period" would seem like a natural enough way to me. If your mom is so abusive or unreasonable that the thought of doing this strikes terror into you, maybe you should tell a school counselor instead.

What to do if you have your period on the first day of school?

ask the nurse for pads or call your mom and tell her for pads or tampons.
