No. Increasing the size of the water supply will only increase the volume of water not the pressure. If you only want more pressure in your shower you could just change your shower head to a water saver one. That will decrease the volume of water while increasing the pressure. But if you want more pressure over all that won't work. You would need to turn up your pressure switch, if you have a well. If you have city water than you don't have a pressure switch and you would need to get a well tank w/ pressure switch installed by a professional. Good Luck!

There are many causes. Get a well technician to check it. It could be as simple as a bad pressure switch.

Check the link for answers to a lot of questions on wells and pumps. The pressure switch is the device that controls what pressures the pump will turn on and off at. This is not to say that the pressure switch makes pressure. Pressure has to be made by the pump.

The air pressure should be 2-3 psi LESS than the pressure switch cut on. If you have a good 30/50 switch, then 27-28 psi air is good. (this is measured when tank is almost empty of water.)Total pressure with this switch should never be more than about 58 psi

The pressure switch could be faulty, the pressure tank could be waterlogged, the pump intake could be at static water level. Call a well technician.
You just need to adjust the pressure switch on the pump to your desired pressure...typically around 50 psi. Sometimes the springs in the pressure switch get old, and just need tightening.
