I believe that once again our health care system is following the "carrot" of money, profit, and greed versus what's actually best for the patient. Why can't wholistic remedies be used (that test to be superior) rather than the more profitable but potentiallly dangerous drugs?

This is easily evidenced by the medical colleges receiving funds from the pharmaceutical companies who also fund research (albeit biased) geared to prove the viability of their drugs. The doctors receive bonuses for pushing these drugs. Its a drug money market whereas all drugs (even over the counter) have SERIOUS side effects. For instance, the Statin drugs lower the cholesterol, however, at the same time they undermine the heart functioning resulting in no increase in life expectancy... Meanwhile, Dr. Mercola at www.mercola.com (allopathic doctor gone wholistic due to a pure heart) cites research that shows natural substances can lower cholesterol even better than these dangerous statin drugs. Cinnamon has been shown to balance blood sugar while high fructose corn syrup laced throughout the food industry (on purpose?) has been linked to the epidemic increase of Diabetes; a major gold mine for the pharmaceutical company through the dependence on insulin which rots the vascular system resulting in amputations and blindness, etc.

We also have the administrative budgeting of every hospital short-staffing the nurses who are over-worked in an unsafe environment. Nurses as culturally-abused women continue to put up with this dangerous work situation since they are well-paid, but it also causes many nurses to leave the profession. It is a very sad situation. Many of the nurses that stay hate the "Skinner box" of unexpected and high stress outcomes of their jobs and have high stress levels and poor health, but need their income. It is the nurses that take care of the patients or at least try to under mostly impossible swork loads while a doctor will see their patient (possibly) only two to three minutes a day during hospital rounds.

Our health care system is sick as it is based on drugs and unneeded surgeries like removal of healthy breasts to prevent Breast cancer? This is barbaric and a repeat of the lobotomies performed in our recent past medical history... There are so many examples of how greed undermines today's health care system.

How the American health care system connected to educational system?

well lets see..... the maerican education system is very uninformed! Rick mercer went to the U.S.A and he talked to them and asked them questions involving eduacation from schools and they had no clue at all about American history or Canadian history so if their health care system is anything like their education system there must be a lot of sick and in need people!!
