Will anything happen to the motor if timing belt breaks on a 2001 ford ranger
There is no 2.8 Liter in a 1989 Ford Ranger. The Ranger V6is a 2.9 Liter and the distributor rotates clockwise.
Loosen the tensioner pulley. Put the fan belt around the pulleys. Pry the tensioner pulley to the right until the belt is tight. Tighten the tensioner pulley nut.
Only if you have the 2.5 liter four cylinder engine in a 2001 Ford Ranger . ( that engine has a timing BELT )
spring loaded tensioner does not get tightened. id belt is loose either the belt is stretched and needs replacing, or the tensioner is worn out and needs replacing
there are no timing marks on a timing belt. the marks are on the timing gears and yes you can find the pictures needed in a workshop manuel
try tightening the tension pully works like a charm
