Directly under the car, in line with the exhaust tubing. : )
you can check it. its under the center consol unscrew it and then tighten it if that doesnt work you will need to adjust them under the car at the back wheels
I have removed my drake drum today and wondered how to adjust the hand brake as it seams not to work as good as before .i removed drum to change wheel bearing
underneath the centre console is a clamp in the clamp should be your 2 brake cables that control your handbrake ...you can tighten them there ...use spanner as is a squeeze to get a socket on
its normally mechnical so find the steel cable and find the nut on the cable of the parking brake "handbrake" and tighten
The handbrake is ajusted in two ways. Firstly it has rear handbrake drums which can be adjusted. Secondly remove the armreast console from around the handbrake lever and there is an ajustment nut here as well.
Remove handbrake gator and tighten exposed nut at the end of the handbrake.
On a Saxo, the handbrake can sometimes come loose and needs to be tightened. To do so, first turn the engine on and place your foot on the brake. Push in the handbrake button and then pull up on the handbrake until tension is felt. Repeat as needed.
Remove side covers on rear ashtray and lift out unit. The adjustment nut needs a 10mm spanner. Just about take up any slack when handbrake is off. Don't over tighten.
There is a screw on the hand brake handle inside the cabin. Just take off the leather that is covering your handbrake lever, and you will see it.
it's underneath the handbrake/ gearstick console between front seats.
Put the handbrake on and lift the rubber flap up just below the lever. Beneath that will be a 10mm nut, tighten that to adjust handbrake. 1993 micra should be about 5-7 clicks
If the rear brakes are out of adjustment, the hand brake will not work..
