think you have to shim them up !!i/e pack them out .
Normally loose tappets will cause a ticking sound in the engine. Depending on if you have mechanical or hydraulic tappets you may need to have them replaced or simply adjusted.
The tappets may need adjustment or replacement, due to wear.
you need to crack loose the injectors and let the fuel pump push some fuel (and air) out around them then tighten them back up.
If loose they will need replaced.
dirty fuel filters for one !!
Its a tappet adjustment that to be done for diesel engines to overcome the noisy sound from the engine which get loose by continueously uses of the vehicle .
Because of Ring burnt, engine heat-up or loose piston in sleave.
1992 4.3l engine
engine fan has treads backwards to tighten while engine is running...it would work loose if it did not. turn it to tighten it like a regular bolt to remove it hope this helps
There should be 4 bolts on bottom of the engine, make sure they are still there and tighten them, they can loosen up or even fall off.
My belt is too loose, I have to tighten it.
the bolts should be very very very loose. in other words, don't tighten at all! is this the 2 one at either end that u are on about if you are what would you do just tighten them till bolts grab thanks
