Tighten power steering belt 2002diamonte
The power steering belt has an adjustment pulley. To tighten the belt on a 1994 Acura Vigor loosen the adjustment pulley and pull it up higher than tighten it.
Do you need to tighten the entire pump assembly (brackets and belt) or just tighten the steering box?
The belt is tightened with an adjusting screw.

Put it back on and tighten the bracket.
Assuming you have power steering, you may have a loose belt or the power steering system has a leak and the power steering fluid reservoir is low or empty.
Begin by loosening the tensioner pulley. Slide the tensioner pulley to the right. The power steering belt will become loose and can be removed. Put the new power steering belt on and tighten it by sliding the tensioner pulley to the left.
there is an adjustment tab or hook under neath and you just about have to lay flat on your back pull up the tension and have someone else tighten the bolts from above.
The alternator will move in and out to tighten the belt and the PS pump will do the same

at the power steering pump theres a long bolt on the one side when tighted it tightens the belt.
