Hey there, This is relatively simple. There are two scenarios. 1) You have media on the CD, that you want in MP3 format back on your computer. From OS X, if you have iTunes (comes preinstalled) you can rip the CD into media files in your choice of .aac and .mp3 format. 2) If you need to get talking tapes into MP3 files, that are live recorded or any other "talking" form -> You can use Audacity OS X (Freeware - Google it) to save those files to .mp3 or burn them to a CD. Hope this helps, Joey ----- Adding onto what Joey had said... Using iTunes, you can convert your CD (Aiff) format into an MP3 format using the following steps: 1, Open iTunes 2. Choose "iTunes" (on menu bar) 3. Choose "Preferences" 4. Choose "General" Tab 5. Click "Import settings" 6. Choose "import using: MP3 encoder" 7. Choose "settings: 192 (best quality)" 8. Click "OK" 9. Highlight the song(s) you'd like to convert 10. choose "Advanced" (on menu bar) 11. click "Create MP3" iTunes will now convert your CD (AIff) format into an MP3 format. - Carlo

If your on a mac you may have to change your sound preferences to specify that you want to use the headphone or line in for incoming audio. As your stereo plays tracks are separated automatically so you can just let it play. If there are any errors you can always delete, cut and combine your tracks before you download. You can also add artist info like title, artist name and album to your mp3s. It is really very simple to use.
Start by extracting the audio file from the cassette and saving it on the computer. Use the appropriate software to convert the saved file into MP3.
If you can play it on the computer, then use a capture program.
I like WavePad, and it's free.
CD players .. radios .. tv .. cd's .. tapes ... ect
The Coby CXCD282 does not play in MP3 format. This boombox simply plays CD's, AM/FM radio and cassette tapes for listeners enjoyment.
So you could have portable music without having to buy cd's or tapes.

Sony boomboxes are excellent and can play MP3 CD's, have radios and some can even still play tapes.

on many koz players on your computer you can transfer them to an audio CD... once on the audio CD you can then transfer them back to your computer by simply using windows media player... and they will come out in an mp3 format. little tedious but it works
Try Downloadng (Buy for full version) Acousticar CD Ripper (I think) then you can transfer songs on to your Computer. It will automaticlly convert to MP3.
The difference is the type of media being used. an MP3 CD player will play mp3 cds that you burn yourself with a PC. They will soon go the way of the VCR. An mp3 player has a flash card or hard drive inside to which you will transfer files you wish to view/listen to.
Some CD's can not be converted into MP3 files. If when placing the CD in the computer it does not offer to save the songs then the disc is probably locked. If it does offer right click and hit save here and click iTunes.
how do i transfer the file on my zen nano mp3 player and get them to upload in media player so i ccan burn them to a cd?
The main benefit you'll find from a cd based mp3 player is the ability to transfer the music between people in the form of a burnt cd. However, keep in mind that this has been mostly surpassed by the availability of SD cards.
