Boils are painful swellings. Modern medicine teats the boils with antibiotics and surgery (if pus is required to be drained). Traditionally however boils are usually associated with increase in the heat in body. In modern parlnece this may be increased calorigenesis associated with infections. It is good to reconcile both views. Drinking lot of water and avoiding heat producing edibles such as pulses eggs etc. and consuming calming agents such paripath, vala (khus), sandalwood, turmeric etc can be combined with antibiotics and surgery. These views may be discussed with our family physicians and verified.

well i have one on my butt and i have tried everything under the sun and can not get it to come to a head!!! so i do not know what to tell you bud!!!

I am not sure if you tried this remedy but I remember my grandmother treating family for boils with Ichthammol Ointment -20% on boils. It is a salve that will draw the puss to the surface so that it can be lanced. You can find it at your local stores/pharmacies. Be prepared for the black, strong tar smell that lingers in your nose for a bit. However, it is worth the relief that you should get from it. FYI-Cleanse area well, apply a generous amount of salve, cover with a large gauze pad (you do not want the salve leaking out) for 24 hours. The boil should be to a head and ready to blow. You may want to have a doctor lance it at this point to prevent further infection if not done properly. Good Luck!!!

P.S. - The ointment can also be used on bee stings to remove the stinger, splinters, etc.

The first thing you should do to help get rid of boils is apply a warm compress. Soak a washcloth in warm water and then press it gently against the boil for about 10 minutes. You can repeat this several times throughout the day. Or you can use our product Magic Salve Beeswax & Propolis which can treat any boil or spot marks that appears after the boil get removed. Our cream has no side effects and totally safe and tested by medical professionals.

Well, there is no difference in terms of the act of "boiling," but there is a grammatical difference. Saying "bring it to the boil" is unnecessary. There is no need for using the definite article "the" for "boil". Merely say or write "bring to boil" or "boil." These are good enough.
