These options are among the most commonly advised for people suffering from sleep apnea:
1. Adjust your pillow(s) so that your neck is in a level position. Your chin should not be anywhere near your chest when you are trying to sleep. This will allow your airway to stay more open.
2. Exercise/Diet. Many people with this problem are overweight. The extra soft tissue(fat) can push down on the throat and constrict it.
3. Get a CPAP machine. It will force a constant stream of air into your nose while you sleep.
4. Get surgery. It will remove some of the tissue that blocks the air.
