Pano, also known as growing pains or wandering lameness, is an inflammation of the nerve net that covers the long bones because the bones are growing too fast. it can be prevented or treated by not feeding puppies food that is too rich. Food that is appropriate for a small breed puppy is not necessarily appropriate for a large breed puppy because small breeds are supposed to mature more quickly. To slow growth and thereby reduce stress on the nerve net, lower the protein and fat content of the dog's food by switching pups to adult formulas starting between five and six months of age. Make the change gradual. The first week, feed 3/4 puppy food mixed with 1/4 adult. The second week feed half puppy and half adult. The third week, feed 3/4 adult and 1/4 puppy. From the fourth week on you can feed adult food exclusively.
