Get a carb sync device like.carbtune or take it for a proper dynotune... workshop without a dyno is just a waste of money and you can do at least as good a blind tune yourself.

A vacuum gauge is all you need to tune in a carb. A gauge for each carb if you have more than one.
The Yamaha MP-31H have a better recording since the sound and more crisp and clearer then the Auto-Tune EFX. However, the Auto-Tune is great for a smaller band or someone who is a beginner in recording.

Their are 2 basic adjustments,throttle stop screw and air/fuel mixture, asumeing the float bowl and needel vale are adjusted proporly(wich are already set when you buy a new carb) start with lightly seating the two screws all the way in,turn out 1 1/4, thats the standard setting,for fine tune adjustments i suggest your local shop.
Properly tune your t-maxx and ensure no carb air leaks! Also, check for driveline restriction.
It probably needs a tune-up and the carb and choke looked at.
