I HAVE HAD TO DO THIS......YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO GET INTO THE CAR WITH YOUR KEY. TURN OFF EVERYTHING; LIGHTS, RADIO, EVERYTHING.
TURN THE IGNITION TO THE ON POSITION (WHERE THE BATTERY LIGHT SHOWS UP)FOR 15 MINUTES. CUT IT OFF. WHEN YOU CUT IT ON IT WILL BE DEACTIVATED AND YOUR REMOTE WILL NOT WORK ANYMORE. IT WILL HAVE TO BE CODED AGAIN. I have a 2000 Sonata and the alarm would not shut off..found out there is a "valet switch" on almost every year and model...mine is a silver toggle switch on the lower left dash..switched it off..no more problems!!!
