turn headlight knob to the right, or remove the fuse
Car believes one door is ajar - dirty/inoperable door switch? Light manual on/dash dim/dome on switch is swivelled completely clockwise; or is shorted making car believe you want the dome light manually switched on.
The dome light switch on a 2005 Dodge Neon is located on inside the door jab. It is tucked away inside, tracing the wires of the switch is the best way to find its placement.
theres a switch on the back side of the door when you open it the light is turned on and when your turning the corner the door moves a little. i had the same thing its a dome light switch like 10 or 12 bucks.
There should be a way to dim and brighten your dash lights. Its different for every car but if you turn it until it clicks your dome light should turn off. Dome llights are adjustable so make sure yours is in the position that when you close the door it turns off.
The dome lights work automatically and manually. If you have manually turned on a dome light, you must manually turn it off. If it was turned on automatically, it will automatically turn off. On my 2005 model, there is a dash switch to select(Manual)On/Automatic/(Manual)Off. This switch works on all dome lights but will not turn off an individual light that was turned on (pushed in)individually. If you have a passenger that has turned on a dome light, you/they must turn it off manually. Children are particularly prone to leaving individual dome lights on (and it doesn't even have to be dark out), so you should check periodically to assure that your battery is not drained.
If Its an older Grand Marquis its easy. Find the knob that you pull out to turn on the headlights. Now, just turn it clockwise and the light will turn off!
The switch that controls the brightness of the dash illumination also can turn on the dome light when turned all the way in one direction. That switch may be on.
Usually it turns out you left the warp core powered up. Turn it off and the saucer dome will stop.
The door latch as a ground wire attached to it. When the door is closed the circuit is completed and the light will go off. Check the ground wire in the door latch.
Try closing the doors?
I have a 2004 Neon and I turn it off by disconnecting the positive battery cable and then turning the ignition key to the "On" position and hold it there for 1 minute.
it is the pastic push button inside of the door jam, when it is pushed IN the light goes off,OUT the light comes ON.
