you can find springs online or pull the interior light fuse

remove the interior door panel and you can get at the door handle, disconnect the rod and loosen the clips that hold it against the door, the whole assembly will come right out.
Double check that you havent turned the headlight switch fully ccw this overides the door switches!!!!
I would say 1 of your door switches are bad or your door doesn close all the way.

There is a small square "trap door" in each wheel well directly behind the fog lamps. You can pry it open and access the fog lamps. They just twist loose. Untrue...in the 2008 Liberty in any case.
