insert key until lights on but no start. take a dinner fork with out your wife noticing push the button firmly in. now open hood and disconnect the negative battery cable. Immediate reinstall cable. done. of course this loses all your radio pre sets so write them down first. That light comes on every 5,000 miles to remind you to change oil.

There is something not right with the engine.
in the distributor in the rear of the engine. sometimes known as a hall sensor
your check engine light is tellin you there is some thing wrong under the hood you need a OBD reader to check the codes this will tell you what sencer is lacking drive safe
Usually in a removable housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose
Disconnect the negative battery connection for 30 minutes and the light will reset. However it will come back on if you have not repaired the problem that caused it to come on in the first place.
