2nd opinion: I think they are yanking our chain. I have tried this numerous times and it doesn't work.
If it is the service engine soon light then that mean your vehicles brain(computer) is throwing a code. Could be as easy as bad gas or could be more expensive. You need to have the vehicle hooked up to a diag machine which could run from $45 to $98 an hour. If its the oil change light then the first answer should work.
