It's actually very easy. First, turn off the engine. Then, before turning the key in the ignition, press and hold the trip odometer button in. While still holding the button in, turn the ignition to 'ON' but do NOT start the car. Keep watching the maintenance indicator light. After several seconds of holding the odometer reset button the light will go out and is then reset.
You may then turn the car off or start it.
