NoNo
The power ratings are anywhere from 240 ish to 300 horsepower. Get the late model mechanically controlled engines. They are the big brother to the 6bt 12 valve. Very good motors.
The Dodge truck with the 12 valve did not have one. The 24 valve did.
94-98.5 dodge cummins 12 valve
Cummins is good. Dodge is not. Cummins has always been a good engine. Dodge is lucky to have the contract with Cummins. I have 2 Dodge Cummins (an 1992 and 2006). Both have electrical problems and the transmission in my 2006 isn't great and that's with stock power and only 93,000 miles. The 12-valve Cummins is all mechanical- easy and cheap to get power out of it. The 24-valve Cummins is computerized- have to buy a programmer. The best combination would be a Cummins in a Chevy.
yesyes
1989 up till 1998.5 then they changed to 24 valve
It depends on what model it is. It could have anywhere from 150 to 197 horsepower depending on whether it is intercooled and has the 8 valve or 12 valve head.
if you have a first gen (1989 to 1993) 12 valve cummins.turn the fuel screw one turn or more turns to create horspower and torqe and black smoke. but if you have a gen 2 a (1994-1998) then you have to move your fuel plate up.
you dont TURN up the injectors. you either adjust the pump, or you buy the appropriate computer chip for that vehicle You don't use a CHIP on a 94 Cummins! Any 12 valve Cummins 1989-1998 has a mechanical fuel pump instead of a computer controlled one. You can change the injectors, but they don
