To write a fraction in Microsoft Word, you have to use a multitude of steps

The easiest way is to insert a symbol, but that doesn't always work

  1. press ctrl f9 together
  2. This gives you two brackets
  3. Insert EQ \F(abc,xyz) into the brackets
  4. abc and xyz into whatever numbers you want
  5. this will become abc over xyz
  6. Finally, press shift f9 to finish
  7. If you want to edit, press alt f9
