if your truck is used then your not going to be able to, the person that owned the vehicle before you should have written the password down some where. If not then your gonna have to take your truck to a shop and they will have to get a hold of the manufacture and have them reset it for you
In order to unlock the radio on a 98 cutlass, you would need to remove the dash board cover. This will grant you access to the radio which might be held by screws or nuts that you will loosen.Ê
By taking your car to a GM Dealership. They have the special equipment to do it.
http://www.DelcoLockCodes.com will get you your radio unlock code for $5.00. Contact a GM dealer, preferably the selling dealer. They may have the code stored in their computer system if they sold the car. Otherwise you are probably going to have to remove the radio and get the Serial # off the radio. With this serial # the GM dealer will provide the code.
I guess take radio out and buy a better and cheaper radio
Have you checked your owners manual? If you know the code it is easy. If you don't have the code go to this website for instructions. radio-code.com/GM-Pay-Page-radio-code.htm
I'd recommend http://www.DelcoLockCodes.com. They can get the code for any locked Delco radio. Good luck!
Go to the gm service center nearest you with title/proof you own this vehicle, and probably pay to have a gm technician utilize a gm scan tool to re-set the security system between the radio and the pcm.
You have to go to a GM dealership and have the password reset. Costs about $20.
I assume you are referring to the radio? It has a four-digit security code that the owner can set. When the power to the radio is disconnected, (either because of battery removal/failure, or because the radio was removed) the radio will "lock" and the four-digit security code must be entered again to unlock the radio, before you will be able to use it again. If you do not know the security code, you will need to take the car to a GM dealership, and they will have to unlock it for you.
To unlock the radio, there are many different codes. I just put a 2008 radio in my 2006 VW Jetta. Had to call the dealer to get the code. They need your VIN from the current car and the Serial number off the radio. My code was 0185, try that.
Sure, if it fits. BUT if it's a newer model and has THEFTLOCK (Theft-Deterrent Feature), you will have to take it to a GM dealer to unlock it, because it will not play (something to do with the Vehicle Identification Number)...
no it can not, they work on different radio frequencys and are not interchangable
Your GM dealer is the only place you may get the code for free. Actually, you can get the unlock code for your radio from www.DelcoLockCodes.com. I got my code through them for $4.99 and got it in an hour or two. Good luck!
