With great difficulty.
Coat hangers are far too thick and large to pick a lock with; they simply won't fit in, let alone be able to meet the pins. Neither is there any way of using one to push the lock back into the door, since they just won't be able to get in the right position for it.

I have a 93 prism and I used a coat hanger to open my locked door a few weeks ago. Unbend and straighten the hanger leaving a hooked end. Slide it between the window and the door, between the stripping, so that the hook end is now inside the door. I had success by hooking the lock rod that unlocks the door. I was near the door handle when I popped it. I just carfully pryed the door fraim enough to fish a heavy gage wire in looped window winder and rolled window downI was in in about 35 sec. it was easy

If you have locked your car keys in your car, you can use a wire coat hanger to unlock your car door by forcing it through the key hole. Take the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) along with some ID (your license) to the dealership and they will make you a new key. No damage done this way.
